5 Tips on How to Start a Blog for Social Media Managers

Starting a blog for social media managers is a great way to showcase your skills and expertise in the field. In this crowded market, it is wise to utilize tools available to you to stand out from the crowd.

Tip 1

Choose a platform.

To start, you'll need to decide what platform you'd like to use. Popular blogging platforms include Squarespace, WordPress, and Blogger. Squarespace is my personal favorite. It is user friendly and not as complicated and convoluted as some of the other options out there. Wix is another user friendly option. Take a look at the options and find what works best for you and your preferred style.

Tip 2

Create an account.

Once you've chosen a platform, you'll need to create an account and choose a title and web address (URL) for your blog. Get creative here! This is a great chance for you to stand out.

Tip 3

Use brand themes.

You'll also need to choose a theme and style for your blog that matches your brand. Inclusion of your brand colors and styling will streamline your work across your different platforms and will make you recognizable to your followers.

Tip 4

Create Content.

Once your blog is set up, you'll need to create content. You can create posts about topics related to social media management, such as strategies, trends, tips, and best practices. You can also share information about your own experiences as a social media manager. Putting a personal spin on your blog entries is a great way to connect on a personal level with your followers. Time for some story telling!

Tip 5

Promote it.

Once you have your content ready, you'll need to promote it on social media. You can create posts about your blog and share them with your followers. You can also use hashtags and join conversations related to social media management to spread the word.

As your blog grows, you can start to monetize it with ads or affiliate links. Good luck and have fun!
